Aldo Caliari
Originally from Argentina, Aldo Caliari has a Master's of International Policy and Practice from George Washington University (2007) and a Master's Degree from the Washington College of Law, American University, on International Legal Studies (2000), where he was also honored with the Outstanding Graduate Award. He earned his first law degree in Argentina, at the Universidad Nacional de Tucuman Law School, in 1997.
Since 2000 he has been a staff at the DC-based Center of Concern, a faith-based organization and founding member of Jubilee USA, where he currently leads the Rethinking Bretton Woods Project. The project works towards the democratization of economic policy-making and acts as the focal point for Center of Concern on areas of debt and finance. Since 2001 he has been a member of Jubilee Policy Working Group. He is also an active contributor to the strategies and positions of several international networks and coalitions working on debt issues, such as CIDSE, LATINDADD and the International Jesuit Network for Development. Aldo was also deeply involved in coalition-building and advocacy around the UN Financing for Development conference (Monterrey, Mexico, 2002), and has remained engaged in its follow-up process. Other areas currently a focus of his project are trade-finance linkages and global economic governance.
