Neil Watkins
Neil Watkins is National Coordinator of Jubilee USA Network, the US arm of the global Jubilee debt cancellation campaign. Jubilee USA is an alliance of more than 80 religious denominations, faith-based networks, development agencies, labor, environment and community organizations working to generate the political will for cancellation of unjust debts in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Prior to becoming Jubilee's director in January 2005, Watkins led the Network's media and outreach department. Watkins has worked as a policy analyst and campaigner on global trade and development issues since 1998, focusing on the impact of the international financial institutions and poverty in Africa, and on grassroots outreach and education. Prior to joining Jubilee USA, Watkins held research and advocacy positions at Center for Economic Justice, Center for Economic and Policy Research, the Preamble Center, and RESULTS. Watkins is a graduate of Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, where he focused on international politics and African Studies and spent a year living and working in Dakar, Senegal.
