Communications & Development Internship Program

Have you ever wondered how change happens? Ever wonder if you could be a part of something that will improve the lives of billions around the world? It all starts here.

We are currently searching for fall interns! Please apply soon!

Jubilee USA Network offers internships working with our Communications and Development Coordinator (CDC) each academic semester (fall, spring, and summer). The internship is for qualified individuals with an expressed interest in working on debt cancellation and other issues of global justice. The internship provides an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience with public education, media, policy and advocacy work.

As an intern at Jubilee USA you will work with the staff and fellows of Jubilee USA. During your semester with Jubilee, interns will support Jubilee's work generally, with the possibility of undertaking a semester-long project that is devised according to Jubilee's needs and intern interests.

A Jubilee Communications and Development intern will:

  • Work closely with the CDC to:
    • Maintain Jubilee's communications and media databases
    • Update communications and advocacy-related content for the new Jubilee website
    • Support internal communications initiatives
    • Assist in updating the Jubilee blog
    • Internet research
    • Gathering photographs for communications needs
    • Maintain press files
    • Brainstorm creatively
    • Assist the CDC with development work, including brainstorming and preparing for campaigns
  • Provide administrative support including:
    • Data entry: Entering new supporters, and updating existing supporters in our databases
    • Office functions: Assist with mailings and related administrative work to support Jubilee's grassroots, development and policy activities
    • Assist in preparation of bi-monthly development call
  • Attend Jubilee USA Network meetings, coalition events and related conferences.

Jubilee USA internships are unpaid, however the Communications & Development intern can receive a travel stipend that covers the cost of transport to and from the internship. Arrangements can be made to enable the intern to receive academic credit for the experience.

Applicants should have strong written and verbal skills, attention to detail, a passion for working on global justice issues, and have a strong knowledge of issues of debt and economic globalization. Familiarity with computer programs such as Excel and Word is desired, and the ability to work as part of a team is necessary.
