A special Picture New Leadership banner will be traveling around the U.S. this fall.

This traveling debt banner with the words: Picture an End to Global Poverty: Cancel Debts! More and Better Aid! will be hosted by groups and congregations across the United States that will use the banner’s time in their community as an opportunity to organize special Picture New Leadership photos and events. 

Maybe you’d like to take the banner to be photographed at a local presidential campaign office, at the office of your local member of Congress, with Jubilee supporters at a significant landmark in your city or with a prominent local community leader.

The time that the traveling banner is in your city is an opportunity for you to use your creativity to make an extra impact! Pictures taken with the banner will be delivered to the national offices of the presidential candidates. 

Each group that hosts the banner will attach photos of the banner with different people and in different places throughout their community before sending the banner on to the next host group.

HERE’S HOW TO BRING THE BANNER TO YOUR COMMUNITY:

1. Let us know when you would like to host the banner. Call Jubilee at 202-783-3566 and ask to schedule a time to have the banner in your community.
2. Before or after requesting the banner, call a meeting of people in your community or congregation, to plan how you can use the banner to collect many photos with signatures for the photo-petition and/or to get photographs in significant locations or with community leaders, etc.
3. Promote the activities that you have planned for the banner with flyers, emails, church bulletin inserts and announcements, calls to local media, etc.
4. Make sure you have a camera! Digital pictures are preferred since we will want to send copies to each presidential candidate and choose some to feature on our web site.
5. Receive the banner, which will come with pictures of the communities that have hosted it already, information about the campaign, and copies of the petition. We will email you the address to send the banner to at the end of your time with it.
6. Hold the events, take the pictures, and collect signatures!
7. Print your favorite photo, either professionally or on your computer, and include it with the banner for mailing on to the next location.
8. Mail the banner and the picture to the address of the next host.
9. Finally, mail the filled out petitions to the Jubilee office at:
