Welcome to the 2008 Jubilee Sunday Resource Guide.
This year Jubilee Sunday will be held on April 13 and December 14. April 13 has already passed and we encourage you to read the reports from congregations that celebrated Jubilee Sunday/Sabbath.
Jubilee Sunday annually provides an opportunity for communities of faith to hold a Sunday service focused on the principles of Jubilee. This year, on Sunday April 13, 50 Jubilee Congregations and faith communities celebrated Jubilee! On the same weekend, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank held their spring meetings in Washington, DC.
Many Christian communities reflected on Acts 2:42-47, a remarkable description of the early church's attempts to recreate the justice and equality of the ancient Jubilee.

The Outreach and Congregations team at Jubilee USA has created a resource guide complete with worship materials, sermon notes, hymns, and other necessary items to prepare you and your congregation for Jubilee Sunday 2008.
We'll be updating the site throughout the year with education and resource materials for you to use in your community. Be sure to also mark your calendar for the last Jubilee Sunday of 2008 on December 14.
