March 19 – 22, 2010 Washington DC.
Tens of millions of migrants, refugees and displaced persons have no place to rest their heads each night. Come to Ecumenical Advocacy Days March 19 – 22, 2010 to be a part of an action weekend addressing this global injustice. Join hundreds of faith-based advocates in taking action on U.S. legislation that will welcome immigrants, protect refugees, and prevent displacement of millions.
Ecumenical Advocacy Days is an annual conference and movement of the ecumenical Christian community. The conference will be especially exciting this year, as the Jubilee Act will be one of the “asks” during the Capitol Hill visit which will conclude the weekend.
Jubilee USA is helping to organize conference’s workshops on Global Economic Justice. Participants will explore global economic justice issues, receive briefings from policy experts, hear personal testimonies from the global south, and learn advocacy strategies to apply in Washington and at home. The gathering will conclude with a visit to Capitol Hill where participants will ask their Congressional representatives for comprehensive immigration reform and the passage of the Jubilee Act.
The weekend is a great opportunity to meet Jubilee supporters and other committed activists from around the country.
