The Stand Up and Take Action Against Global Poverty Days are fast approaching. On October 17th -19th join millions of others around the world in demanding that world leaders keep their promises to end poverty and inequality. Last year, over 43 million people stood up and took action. This year, Jubilee is working with the UN Millennium Campaign to help break that record and send an even louder message to our elected leaders.
NOTHING'S EASIER THAN STANDING UP:
Participate on the weekend of October 17 – 19th by "Standing Up," taking a picture, and signing our Picture New Leadership petition.
1. Gather your FRIENDS:
A Stand Up event can happen anywhere on the weekend of October 17 – 19th. You can organize a Stand Up in your class on Friday, in your congregation on Saturday or Sunday or at a dinner party or gathering on Saturday night. All you have to do is designate a time when people will “Stand Up” together as a group.
2. Say the PLEDGE:
If you'd like you can read the Stand Up Pledge together.
3. Take a PICTURE:
Stand together, hold a sign that says "Picture an End to Global Poverty – Cancel Debts, More and Better Aid" and take a picture.
4. Sign the Picture New Leadership PETITION.
5. Send a COPY of your picture and your signed petitions with your name, address, phone, email and anything else you want to tell us about the picture via email to:
