Andrew Hanauer is a summer 2012 Policy and Advocacy Intern. He is currently working on a Master's of International Studies at the University of San Francisco, where he is writing a thesis on Odious Debt in Sub-Saharan Africa. The emphasis of his graduate work has been African issues, with a particular focus on East Africa. His Swahili is improving, as is that of his two-year old daughter, who Andrew hopes will someday accompany him to Africa. Andrew has worked for a national environmental non-profit and two presidential campaigns, and has directed a job training program in California. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and two kids.
