More than 4,200 people have died from the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Uganda and Kenya. Over the next 12 months the DRC is scheduled to pay $205 million in IMF debt payments. With debt relief, that money could be used to save lives and end the outbreak.
As world leaders gather in Bangkok for the IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings, tell the IMF to help fight the Ebola crisis and strengthen the healthcare system in the DRC.
IMF Executive Directors:
Help fight Ebola with debt relief and aid. Recapitalize funds for the Catastrophe Containment and Relief Trust to cancel $205 million in IMF debt payments and utilize tools like the Resilience and Sustainability Trust to provide needed resources to the DRC.
